Montgomery Code is hiring a Senior Content Strategist to own client content and produce the work that carries our clients' messages to technical markets. Our clients build things: manufacturers, SaaS teams, and ecommerce brands that make their own products. You will dig into how those products actually work and translate that into content that reads like it was written by someone in the room, because we're in the room often.
This is an ownership role: you own client content end to end and report directly to the Founder. It is also a people job: you are on the phone with engineers, in the room with designers, and trusted by clients to ask the right questions. The bar here is high on every deliverable, from foundational messaging to a single social caption. You become the deepest in-house expert on each client's product, and the work you ship reflects it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own client-content relationships end to end, leading the retrieval of content, ideas, and inspiration from the client with guidance from leadership
- Develop foundational brand messaging and positioning for brand launches and product launches, grounded in research and technical copywriting
- Interview clients, study their products and buyers, and pull technical detail out of engineers and operators, often by picking up the phone to get it fast
- Write the work yourself: case studies, industry guides, website copy, blog posts, email campaigns, ad copy, social captions, and video scripts
- Turn video interviews and transcripts into written stories
- Manage select client social calendars across LinkedIn and other platforms, using scheduling tools and native platforms
- Curate photography and video from the asset library, selected to build a clear, compelling narrative
- Publish and update website content across Webflow and Sanity
- Build AI workflows for research and outlining, including projects and knowledge bases, so client context scales across the team
- Own the messaging layer that ties creative together, collaborating with designers, photographers, videographers, and the Creative Director
- Develop ad copy and campaign messaging in partnership with the growth team
- Conduct keyword, copy, and audience research for client brands and their competitors
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- You know each client's content more deeply than anyone else on the team, including leadership
- Your work clears client approval with little to no feedback
- Clients bring their content questions to you first and treat you as a thought partner, not a vendor
- You run your accounts independently: research, drafting, and client communication move without waiting on direction
- Some briefs land crystal clear, others vague, and you go find the answer either way
- You iterate in the open, trading drafts and feedback with teammates so every round gets stronger
- You bring momentum and clarity across a wide variety of technical client work
REQUIREMENTS
- 4 to 8 years in product, content, and digital marketing
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Advertising, Engineering, or a related field
- Genuine interest in technical products and the people who build them (if this isn't you, please don't apply)
- Strong collaborator: you work shoulder to shoulder with designers, photographers, videographers, and the Creative Director, and you communicate clearly with everyone in the room
- Hypersocial: you build easy rapport with clients and teammates, and you make the quick call to get what you need instead of waiting a week on an email reply
- Proactive and resourceful: when a brief is thin, you go find what is missing instead of waiting to be told
- Precise: senior enough to work independently and ship client-ready work with minimal revision
- Hands‑on AI experience, including building knowledge bases and using it for research and drafting workflows
- Strong editorial judgment: you can look at a draft and say what is working, what is not, and why
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced agency environment, moving between manufacturers, SaaS teams, and ecommerce brands in the same day
TOOLS

- Location: Grand Rapids, MI (onsite with hybrid flexibility earned)
- Benefits: Annual bonus eligibility and 401k match. Health benefits are not offered at this time.
- Salary: $70k to $85k, based on skills and experience
- Reports to: Founder/Principal
