Job summary

Cengage, a global edtech company, seeks a Lead Content Developer to craft high-quality English language content for the Secondary portfolio within the NGL Global ELL team. You’ll guide a project team across development phases, partnering with a Learning Designer, Academic Design Manager, and Sr.

Director, Academic Design to meet learning objectives. Responsibilities include collaborating with authors, editors, and vendors, planning content and workflows, budgeting, and ensuring on-time delivery

Qualifications

8-10 years in educational publishing or equivalent teaching experience in ELL.
Strong project management with budgeting and scheduling.
Advanced editing, proofreading, written and verbal skills.
Deep understanding of language learning pedagogy for content decisions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Learning Designer, Portfolio Manager, senior management, authors and experts to build a program meeting course objectives.
Identify, hire, and manage freelance authors, editors, and editorial vendors with Operations.
Develop content planning documents, guidelines, and prototypes with Learning Designers.
Develop project plans including workflows, budgets, and schedules with Production and Academic Design Manager.
Estimate, plan, and communicate project progress to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of content.
Coordinate with internal and external teams including Production, Creative Studio, Operations, Digital, freelancers and writers.
Proactively identify areas for change or improvement and build a highly motivated team.
Represent the Cengage Credo and Ethos in all actions.
