Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Lead Content Developer to create high-quality English language content for the Secondary portfolio (grades 6-12) within the Global English Language Learning team. You will lead a project team through all development phases in partnership with a Learning Designer, Academic Design Manager, and Sr.

Director. You will collaborate with production, operations, and editors, hire freelance authors, and develop planning documents, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely,

Qualifications

• BA/BS or CELTA degree required.
• 8–10 years in educational publishing or equivalent ELL teaching experience.
• Excellent project management with budgeting and scheduling.
• Advanced editing, proofreading, written and verbal skills.
• Strong knowledge of language learning pedagogy.
• Familiarity with NGL brand and content design principles.
• Ability to plan and follow a learning design plan.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a Learning Designer and editors to build a program meeting objectives.
• Identify and manage freelance authors, editors, and editorial vendors.
• Develop content planning documents and prototypes for components.
• Plan projects with budgets and schedules; communicate progress to management.
• Coordinate with Production, Creative Studio, Operations, Digital and freelancers.
• Suggest changes to improve the project and keep the team motivated.
• Represent the Cengage Credo and Ethos in actions and behaviors.
