Job summary

At Pearson, the Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation role drives end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K–12 statewide programs. You translate standards into high-quality specifications and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on-time results.

We seek a candidate with 5+ years in educational testing, deep expertise in item development across paper and online modalities, and strong project and financial planning skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing with client-facing leadership.
• Expertise in item/test development for statewide K–12 assessments.
• Knowledge of psychometric principles.
• Experience with statewide assessments; teaching experience valued.
• Proficiency in project and financial planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and time management skills.
• Adaptability with enterprise systems and tools.
• Ability to travel throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assessment design, content development, and evidence-based practices.
• Serve as primary point of contact for client-facing content development requirements.
• Translate standards into actionable item and test specifications and secure approvals.
• Partner with Psychometrics on blueprint setup, test construction, and data reviews.
• Configure item bank metadata and oversee form assembly for paper and online administrations.
• Create, monitor and update labor and non-salary forecasts for programs.
• Lead scope discussions with content vendors; initiate SOWs and manage escalations.
• Maintain content development schedules and manage change control.
• Identify and log project risks; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Create and execute communication plans for customers; track satisfaction.
• Coordinate staffing and coach team members; foster collaboration.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development with governance.
