Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation to drive end-to-end item and test development for large-scale K-12 statewide assessments. You will serve as a primary client-facing leader coordinating with Psychometrics, Content, Publishing Services, and Finance to deliver high-quality content on paper and online modalities.

The role requires 5+ years in educational testing, strong project and financial planning skills, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing/assessment with client-facing work and cross-functional leadership.
• Expertise in item/test development for statewide K–12 assessments, with paper and online modalities.
• Knowledge of psychometric principles relevant to development.
• Experience with statewide assessments; classroom teaching valued.
• Proficiency in project and financial planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Able to travel throughout the year.
• AI-enabled content development experience; familiarity with prompting/evaluating AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assessment design, content development, and evidence-based practices for statewide assessments.
• Serve as a primary client-facing content development lead and educator committee liaison.
• Translate standards into actionable item/test specifications; secure client approvals.
• Partner with Psychometrics on blueprint setup, test construction, data reviews, and standard setting inputs.
• Configure item bank metadata and test maps; oversee paper and online form assembly.
• Create, monitor and update labor and non-salary forecasts; participate in finance meetings.
• Lead scope discussions with content development vendors; initiate SOWs and escalations.
• Maintain and update content development schedules; manage change control and docs.
• Identify risks; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Create communication plans; track customer satisfaction and milestones.
• Coordinate staffing with Content leadership; coach team members and vendors.
• Leverage AI tools to support content development with compliance and provenance.
• Stay current with AI technologies and share tool recommendations.
