Job summary

Illumio is seeking an experienced engineer to help build the next generation of Zero Trust Segmentation. You will own and design critical features across distributed systems, working with Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, and related tech to protect large enterprise infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with field teams and customers to shape the product, and deliver scalable, secure implementations that stand up to real-world threats.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed & scalable software systems
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, networking concepts, and debugging skills
• Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree. Master’s degree a plus
• Experience with networking and security controls is a plus
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and related technologies
• General TCP/IP networking knowledge
• Unix/Linux programming environment experience
• Proficient in Go, Python, Java

Responsibilities

• Own and design critical features and subsystems, defend the design before peers
• Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns to help them grow
• Work with field organization and key customers to shape the product
• Deliver a rock-solid implementation that is elegant, simple, scalable, secure, and supportable
• Collaborate across teams to build world-class cybersecurity products
