Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Integration Engineer in Red Bank, NJ to build, test, package, and maintain containerized software for T&E programs. You will implement CI/CD pipelines, create and debug Docker containers, and drive integration testing across multiple subcontractors using C++ and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years software engineering experience with Python and C/C++.
• Hands-on Docker containerization with Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, dependencies, debugging runtime issues, USB/GPU passthrough.
• Experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automated build/test/deploy workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments, shell scripting, and build tools (CMake, Make, pip, conda).
• Experience writing integration and regression tests for multi-component systems.
• Working knowledge of Git version control and multi-contributor repositories.
• Familiarity with REST concepts and API testing/implementation.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation: build instructions, interface notes, release checklists, troubleshooting guides.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Docker containers packaging the full software system for delivery to T&E testbeds.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipeline stages for automated builds, tests, and packaging.
• Prepare code drops (MCD and MCR) with working containers, scripts, and updated docs.
• Execute leaderboard self-tests on internal hardware, validate outputs, and report results.
• Write and maintain integration tests ensuring interoperability across subcontractor components.
• Enforce coding standards on incoming subcontractor contributions with documentation and formatting.
• Manage dependency resolution, version pinning, and reproducible builds for consistent outcomes.
• Prepare integration demos and materials for design reviews and site visits.
• Maintain internal docs including build procedures, known issues, and interface specs.
