Steptoe LLP seeks an experienced litigator to join as Staff Attorney in Century City/LA or San Francisco. The role focuses on consumer financial services matters for financial institutions, under supervision of Partners in the Consumer Litigation practice group.

Requirements include a JD from an accredited school and California bar admission; 5+ years of relevant experience; strong writing and analytical skills; and the ability to manage multiple matters with strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• JD required and active California bar in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in consumer financial services.
• Strong drafting, analytical and writing skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and arbitration matters from review to settlement.
• Draft pleadings, motions and discovery; supervise deadlines and calendars.
• Communicate with opposing counsel and clients; advise on settlements.
• Appear in court and at arbitration hearings as needed.
• Coordinate with local counsel and supervising Partners.
