Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Consulting Chief Engineer in Northridge, CA, to lead the advancement of Air Warfare Systems and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of missile development including AARGM and AARGM-ER. The role requires directing cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with engineering processes, and balancing cost with performance across development, production, and sustainment.

On-site work is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM.
16 years of experience, or 14 with a master’s, or 12 with a PhD.
Active DoD Secret clearance (or in Continuous Evaluation).
Proven experience leading engineering teams through design, integration and production of complex systems.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering reviews and chair AWS Engineering/Software Configuration Control Boards.
Ensure adherence to rigorous processes across development, verification, production, and sustainment.
Promote Integrated Functional Capability Strategy and hardware-software integration standards.
Provide technical oversight and deep dives into hardware, software, and integration deliverables.
Collaborate with Advanced Weapons Chief Engineer to align missile objectives.
