Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a quality assurance professional in Chicago to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and automation models. You will coordinate team members, analyze requirements, and design testing tools to reduce manual effort.

The role requires experience with JIRA, Selenium, and Guidewire Policy Center in the Insurance domain, or equivalent tools, and willingness to travel up to 5% domestically. Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, Business, Engineering, Math or IT or related field
Two years of IT experience
One year of IT testing experience
Experience using JIRA, Selenium, and Guidewire Policy Center in Insurance domain; OR JIRA, VS Code, Fiserv OPTIS, VisionPLUS
In lieu of degree, three years post-secondary plus three years IT experience
Travel to US locations as needed up to 5% annually
International travel not required

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and monitor execution of test strategies, plans, scenarios, and procedures
Coordinate lower-level team members and guide them through testing processes
Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for customization
Design and develop testing tools and programs
Create repeatable test automation models to reduce manual testing
Perform acceptance, system, integration, program, and module testing
Conduct impact and gap analysis and participate in issue resolution
Ensure quality throughout design and implementation and track progress against project scope and delivery dates
Test and debug existing software systems
Develop test scripts and perform code reviews
Identify software defects using a bug tracking system and report them to software developers
Research and log root cause analysis for reported bugs and ensure resolution and final testing
Develop test cases and scenarios and interpret results against acceptance criteria

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Business, Engineering (any), Math, Information Technology, or related field
Two (2) years of IT experience
One (1) year of IT testing experience
Experience using JIRA, Selenium, and Guidewire Policy Center in the Insurance domain; OR JIRA, VS Code, Fiserv OPTIS, and VisionPLUS card processing platforms
In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, three (3) years of post‑secondary study in any field plus three (3) years of IT experience accepted
All experience may be acquired concurrently
Travel and relocation to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. required based on business needs
Travel not to exceed 5% per year
International travel not required
