Job summary

Duke University’s Center for Teaching and Learning seeks a Senior Consultant to advance teaching excellence and educational innovation across the university. You will partner with faculty and academic leaders to design and deliver transformative development programs that strengthen pedagogy and student learning in undergraduate, graduate, and professional education.

In this collaborative role you’ll translate research into practical strategies, develop resources, and support AI-enabled teaching

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; doctoral degree highly preferred.
• Five+ years of educational development experience in higher education.
• Three+ years of classroom teaching in higher education.
• Expert with evidence-based teaching across modalities (in-person, hybrid, online).
• Experience with educational technology in pedagogy.
• Strong training design and delivery for varied pedagogical levels.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, facilitate, and improve faculty development programs and institutes.
• Collaborate with faculty on course design and pedagogical innovation.
• Provide evidence-based teaching consultations to departments and programs.
• Develop guides, toolkits, and learning resources for teaching excellence.
• Apply learning science to strengthen programming and effectiveness.
• Support faculty engagement with AI in teaching and learning.
• Contribute AI-related programming and digital resources for innovation.
• Evaluate program impact using feedback and data to drive improvements.
• Partner with university leaders to advance teaching excellence institution-wide.
