Senior Consultant, OpenShift Infrastructure and Virtualization

About The Job

The Red Hat Consulting team is seeking senior-level Container Infrastructure Consultants to work remotely in the U.S. In this role, you will focus on designing and developing automated container platforms, deployment pipelines, and cloud-ready application architectures. You will also learn to implement Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure projects, including container and virtualization technologies. A willingness to travel 30-40 weeks per year within North America and reside near a primary airport is required.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing automated, containerized cloud application platforms covering networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, high availability, and resilience.
• Rapidly learning new technologies such as container orchestration, registries, build strategies, cloud storage, and software-defined networks.
• Traveling frequently to collaborate with clients across various industries.

Training and Development

Upon joining, you will undergo intensive training on Kubernetes, OpenShift, DevOps, and GitOps. Your first year will include:

1. At 2 months: Building production-ready container and virtualization platforms, deploying code into scalable containers and VMs, and gaining practical experience.
2. At 6 months: Successfully delivering container platform projects, developing use cases into project plans, and understanding how Red Hat technologies transform software delivery.
3. At 12 months: Demonstrating technical leadership by implementing complex solutions, mentoring peers, sharing best practices, and applying new frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience leading cloud platform consulting engagements.
• Deep technical knowledge of VMware ESXi, vCenter, VM lifecycle, networking (Switches, NSX), and storage (Datastores, vSAN, vVols).
• Experience with related tools such as Aria/vRealize Suite, SRM, backup, and performance tools.
• Familiarity with OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure is a plus.
• Strategic advisory experience with senior IT and business leaders.
• Agile, Scrum, DevOps experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Degree in computer science or a related field.

The salary range is $111,260 - $183,580, based on qualifications. Red Hat offers comprehensive benefits, a culture of inclusion, and equal opportunity employment.
