Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Houston is seeking a Senior Consultant, Design Project Manager with an architectural background to support design for new and existing construction builds. You will partner with clients and manage design teams across all project phases, ensuring high-quality client services and documentation.

The role requires coordination of design professionals, cost control, and proactive problem solving to deliver successful outcomes on fast-paced projects. On-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• College degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
• Experience in project management on large-scale construction programs.
• Experience in Design/Architecture/Civil works.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in coordinating and administering the project through all design and construction phases.
• Communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage external design consultants through the design and construction process.
• Prepare documents such as reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, and submittals.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendis seeking aSeniorConsultant, Design Project Managerto work with our team, and partner with our client, supporting designs for new and existing constructionbuilds.

The Senior Consult, Design Project Manager should have an architectural background in the construction industry and be experienced in Design/Architecture/Civil works.

• Provides support and reports to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director. Position has frequent interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals and contractors.
• Directly assist the Project Manager(s) in managing, coordinating and administering the project through all phases of design and construction.
• Responsible for ensuring all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level to ensure the client’s needs are addressed.
• Aids in the preparation of documents (reports,schedules, invoices,RFI’s,submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports,changeorders, inspections,closeoutand client presentations) for programming, design and constructionand will assist in maintaining information in project management software.
• Coordinate to schedule meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Maintenance of Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements.
• Review and inform design RFPs.
• Manage our external design consultants through the design and construction process.
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reducecostswithout negative impacts on quality or reliability.

Qualifications

• College Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture.
• Experience and working in Project Management on large-scaleconstructionprograms.
• Experienced in Design/Architecture/Civil works.
• Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
• Team player; ability to work collaboratively.
