Job summary

Plaster Group, LLC is seeking a BI Project Management Consultant to lead a team responsible for designing and developing data warehouse solutions to meet clients' reporting needs.

You will manage projects through the full SDLC lifecycle, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders, and leveraging hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL stack.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 4+ years strong BI background, 6+ years project management experience.
  • Data governance experience a must.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects from conception to completion with limited guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to senior leaders and executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to define objectives, scope and resources for projects within a department or business unit.
  • Knowledge of project management standards and techniques.
  • Able to organize large volumes of data for analysis and retrieval.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the project achieves the expected results within time and on budget.
  • Direct the work of others.
  • Ensure effective ongoing communication throughout the project.

  • Communicate changes to appropriate parties and escalate issues as needed.
  • Gather, analyze and report information to improve profitability, reduce costs, or enhance customer service.
  • Represent the business unit on cross-functional project teams and track progress toward goals.
  • Facilitate complex team meetings and ensure business and technology alignment.
  • Maintain project documentation and prepare status reports on timeline and budgets.

Plaster Group is a business and technology consulting company. We are looking to hire a BI Project Management Consultant who will lead a team responsible for designing and developing our client’s data warehouse solutions to fulfill their reporting needs. They will be responsible working closely with our clients and for project management through the entire systems lifecycle, from requirements gathering through implantation of solutions. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL stack is preferred.

Responsibilities / Activities
  • Coordinate or participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, training, and closure
  • Ensure that the project achieves the expected results within time and on budget.
  • Direct the work of others
  • Ensure effective ongoing communication throughout the project
  • Meet with key managers to coordinate meetings, assignments and deadlines
  • Communicate changes to appropriate parties. Identify issues and resolve or escalation as appropriate
  • Gather, organize, analyze and, report information in support of moderately complex projects to improve profitability, reduce costs, streamline operations, or enhance customer service
  • Represent business unit, department, or functional area on cross-functional project teams; Track progress towards achievement of project goals
  • Facilitate complex team meetings involving business and technical resources; Demonstrate credibility as an IT partner to ensure business and technology decisions are reached to support business goals and objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation and prepare activity reports on the project’s status, timeline, and budgets
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years strong BI background, 6+ years project management experience
  • Data governance experience a must
  • Proven experience managing complex projects from conception to completion with limited guidance. Experience across the entire delivery lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of senior level leaders and confidently make presentations to large and executive audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to define objectives, scope and resources for projects contained within a department or business unit
  • Knowledge of concepts, techniques and tools relating to coordinating and tracking projects. Knowledge of standards, practices and techniques of project management
  • Able to organize large volumes of data for compilation, analysis and retrieval
