Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction for multifamily/commercial projects in Virginia. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, QA/QC, and safety, ensuring work aligns with plans, specs, and budgets.

You will guide field teams, run weekly meetings, track progress, and maintain comprehensive daily logs while collaborating with safety and project teams to resolve issues and keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• 7+ years multifamily/commercial construction experience in a construction management or similar position with knowledge of all construction trades.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, MS Project, Procore, Microsoft Teams, or other project management tools

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the master project schedule with a detailed 2-week look ahead.
• Schedule subcontractors, vendors, and inspections to meet the critical path.
• Coordinate safety with the Safety Department and implement site safety plan.
• Lead weekly subcontractor preconstruction meetings and attend quarterly superintendent meetings.
• Monitor QA/QC, track material deliveries, and issue non-compliance notices.
• Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Laborers.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and daily activity logs.
• Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and third-party inspectors.
• Prepare RFIs and review approved Material Submittals.
