PeopleSolutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial and institutional projects across Virginia.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of construction field leadership experience supervising commercial or institutional projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and construction experience.
  • Experience delivering projects in higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, institutional facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of scheduling, site logistics, safety compliance, quality control, and subcontractor management.
  • Experience working in active, occupied environments is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A consistent commitment to safety, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

  • Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities from mobilization through final completion and closeout.
  • Foster a safe, productive, organized, and collaborative jobsite culture, with safety as the highest priority.
  • Direct daily field operations, subcontractor coordination, work sequencing, and short-term planning to maintain schedule and productivity objectives.
  • Partner with project management teams on budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, procurement, and project reporting.
  • Support the development of bid packages, scopes of work, subcontractor outreach, and procurement strategies.
  • Develop and implement site logistics plans that improve efficiency and minimize disruptions in occupied, campus, healthcare, or public-facing facilities.
  • Conduct daily planning meetings, jobsite walks, coordination sessions, and progress reviews to identify risks and resolve field challenges proactively.
  • Verify that all work complies with contract documents, applicable codes, quality standards, safety requirements, and owner expectations.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and trade partners.
  • Lead field teams through changing conditions, competing priorities, and schedule-critical milestones while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accountability.

Our client, an established construction organization is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial and institutional projects throughout the region. This on-site leadership role is responsible for advancing jobsite safety, quality, schedule performance, and trade-partner coordination from mobilization through closeout.

The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, owners, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality facilities safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Projects may include higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, and other institutional environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities from project mobilization through final completion and closeout.

What We’re Looking For
  • Seven or more years of construction field leadership experience supervising commercial or institutional construction projects and subcontractor teams.
  • Experience delivering projects in one or more of the following areas: higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, institutional, or similarly complex facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant construction experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading diverse project teams and coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling, sequencing, site logistics, safety compliance, quality control, and subcontractor management.
  • Experience working in active, occupied, or operational environments is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced field environment.
  • A consistent commitment to safety, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
