Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Reston, VA is seeking a Superintendent to lead subcontractors, ensure safety, manage project delivery, and uphold budget on a demanding site. The role includes coordinating field operations, tracking schedule progress, and communicating with owners, architects, and engineers to resolve issues.

You will report to the Project Superintendent, Project Manager or Project Executive, supervise assistants and interns, and develop recovery strategies when delays occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus at least four years of related construction experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings and specs.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EH&S applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing for trades.
• Manage site safety program and subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
• Develop and supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and interns.
• Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; implement recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with owners and architects to resolve field issues.
• Manage billing, Work In Place, payrolls, invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work conforms to contract documents.
