Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking a Project Safety Manager for the Hampton Roads, VA area to lead the accident prevention program on a major civil site. You will enforce safety policies, deliver training to field crews and subcontractors, mentor safety staff and coordinate with regulatory agencies and the claims team.

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree, 5+ years of safety management in heavy civil construction, and advanced safety certifications preferred (CHST, ASP, CSP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 5+ years in safety management on heavy civil construction.
• Advanced safety certifications preferred (CHST/ASP/CSP).

Responsibilities

• Leads, directs, manages and enforces the accident prevention program.
• Enforces safety policies and implements corrective actions.
• Mentors and evaluates safety staff.
• Develops training programs and conducts regular safety meetings.
• Investigates incidents and participates in root cause analysis.
• Coordinates with claims and regulatory bodies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
