Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the accident prevention program on a heavy civil construction project. You will enforce safety policies, conduct training, and manage inspections to ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities include mentoring safety staff, coordinating with field crews and subcontractors, and performing investigations for near misses and injuries to drive corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years safety management experience in heavy civil construction.
• Advanced safety certificate, CHST, ASP, CSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads, directs, manages and enforces the accident prevention program and related safety laws on a construction project.
• Enforces safety policies and procedures and implements corrective actions per regulations and owner requirements.
• Mentors and coaches safety staff; conducts training programs and regular safety meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Participates in regulatory inspections; investigates near misses, injuries and incidents to aid root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Works with corporate claims to ensure documentation on asset loss and workers' compensation claims is maintained.
