Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Senior Construction Safety Coordinator in Columbus, OH to provide field safety oversight for mechanical and fire protection crews on a semiconductor manufacturing facility project. This 12-18 month, 1099 contractor role demands a strong presence in active work areas and proactive safety leadership.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• CHST or STSC credential.
• OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510.
• Minimum 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• Must have mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical and fire protection construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Monitor fire alarm, sprinkler, and associated mechanical installation activities.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and other project safety documentation.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with field supervision.
• Provide safety coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and contractors.
• Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce engagement activities.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements.
