Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Senior Construction Safety Coordinator in Columbus, OH for a 12- to 18-month 1099 contract. The role provides field safety oversight for mechanical and fire protection crews on a semiconductor manufacturing facility project.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA 30, CHST/STSC, OSHA 500/510, and 10+ years of construction safety with mechanical experience. Expect a strong field presence and active safety leadership on site.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• CHST or STSC credential required.
• OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 required.
• Minimum 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• Must have mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical and fire protection construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
• Monitor fire alarm, sprinkler, and associated mechanical installation activities.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and safety documentation.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions with field supervision.
• Provide safety coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and contractors.
• Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce engagement activities.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Ensure OSHA and project-specific safety requirements are met.

Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 12-18 Months (Start: 1/4/2027)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $50/hr (Traveler) | $52/hr (Local)
Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Travelers)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday/Saturday | 60+ Hours Per Week
Additional Schedule Details: Extended hours and Saturday work based on project needs.
