Job summary

Weeks Marine, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Safety professional to lead and audit our safety program for marine construction projects.

The role focuses on developing, implementing, and enforcing health and safety practices to ensure the well-being of all personnel across NY/NJ/CT sites. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of heavy civil construction safety leadership, CSP/CHST preferred, and OSHA 30.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
• OSHA 30 certification required; CSP or CHST preferred.
• 5–7+ years of safety management on heavy civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and injury management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHS programs at the project level; drive a safety-focused approach to work.
• Analyze occupational illness and accident data at the project level.
• Recommend safety features to reduce exposure to hazards.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment for hazards and compliance.
• Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach staff.
• Develop EHS training materials and records management.
• Coordinate and present safety training for client requirements.
• Interface with OSHA inspectors during site visits.
