Job summary

BNBuilders seeks a Senior Safety Engineer to manage and implement its health, safety and environmental program across construction sites. You’ll interact with staff and subcontractors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and periodically back-fill for Safety Managers.

The role requires strong safety oversight, audits, and training across projects, along with maintaining OSHA 300 logs and investigating incidents, including COVID-19 cases.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Safety/Engineering/Construction Management or Industrial Hygiene and minimum 2 years construction safety experience.
• Must hold Fed OSHA Construction 30-Hour Certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrates problem solving and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in OSHA, DOSH and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly safety audits on active projects to identify hazards and deficiencies.
• Assist in planning and execution of safety meetings and start-up activities.
• Review project JHA and advise on safety issues.
• Provide safety training and orientations to staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and report incident rates.
• Investigate jobsite accidents and COVID-19 related cases and follow up.
