Job summary

C.A.C. Industries in NYC is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety on assigned heavy/civil construction projects. The role requires extensive EHS expertise, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to implement proactive safety programs and training for site teams.

The successful candidate will review JHAs, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and client standards, while maintaining safety records and coordinating with project teams on risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with hazard identification, evaluation and controls.
• Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations and EHS requirements.
• Minimum 10 years construction experience, 5 years in EHS management.
• Experience recognizing unsafe conditions and implementing corrective measures.
• Ability to render decisions without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review JHAs to verify EHS issues and hazards are identified and communicated.
• Schedule and conduct EHS meetings and training programs.
• Instruct site personnel on hazard recognition, safe work practices and HASP contents.
• Ensure company, client and OSHA safety standards are implemented and followed.
• Maintain safety records including inspections, meetings, trainings and incidents.
• Perform frequent safety inspections and investigate incidents including near-misses.
