Job summary

McKenney’s, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Management professional to lead the enterprise risk strategy across construction and service operations.

You will oversee insurance programs, claims management, and risk-transfer provisions, partnering with brokers, carriers, and TPAs to optimize coverage and costs. The role emphasizes collaboration with Safety, Legal, Finance, and Operations, with a focus on reducing loss frequency and severity and aligning risk mitigation with field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or related field; advanced designation a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive risk management experience in construction or related field.
• Experience managing insurance programs and claims for project-based operations.
• Experience partnering with Safety, Legal, Finance, and Operations leadership.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for executives and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, negotiate, and administer the company’s insurance programs across GL, WC, auto, and builder’s risk.
• Partner with brokers, carriers, and underwriters to optimize coverage and renewal strategy.
• Oversee claims management and coordinate with legal, safety, and operations to reduce losses.
• Develop enterprise risk assessment frameworks for mechanical/construction operations.
• Review contract risk-transfer language in customer and subcontractor agreements.
• Collaborate with Safety leadership to align risk mitigation with field operations.
• Manage relationships with TPAs, brokers, and outside counsel; report loss trends to leadership.
• Support M&A due diligence from a risk/insurance perspective; ensure compliance with bonds and insurance requirements.
