McKenney’s, Inc. seeks a Senior Risk Management professional to lead enterprise risk strategy across our construction and service operations. You will shape insurance programs, oversee claims, and guide risk frameworks to protect people, projects, and financial performance.

The role requires deep expertise in construction risk, insurance program management, and cyber/contractual risk, with a focus on collaboration with Safety, Legal, Finance, and Operations leaders. No relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or related field; advanced designation (ARM/CPCU/CRIS) a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive risk management experience in construction, mechanical/electrical contracting, or related fields.
• CPCU designation in progress.
• Experience managing insurance programs and claims for a company with substantial project/jobsite exposure.
• Experience partnering with Safety, Legal, Finance, and Operations leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, negotiation, and administration of the company's insurance programs including GL, workers' comp, auto, and builder's risk.
• Partner with brokers, carriers, and underwriters to optimize coverage, pricing, and renewal strategy.
• Oversee claims management across all lines, coordinating with legal, safety, and operations to reduce loss frequency and severity.
• Develop enterprise risk assessment frameworks for mechanical/construction operations (jobsite exposure, subcontractor risk, equipment, fleet, cyber, contractual risk).
• Review and negotiate contract risk-transfer language (indemnification, additional insured, limitation of liability) on customer and subcontractor agreements.
• Partner with Safety leadership to align risk mitigation with field operations and reduce EMR/incident trends.
• Manage relationships with TPAs, brokers, carriers, and legal counsel.
• Analyze loss trends and build data-driven reporting for executive leadership and the Board.
• Support M&A due diligence and integration from a risk/insurance perspective as the company grows.
• Ensure compliance with bonding, surety, and contractual insurance requirements across active projects.
• Lead or support business continuity and crisis management planning.
