Job summary

Welltower Inc. is seeking a Development & Construction Paralegal to support our US projects. The role partners with the in-house legal team and external counsel to manage construction contracts, change orders, affidavits, liens, and related documents.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction or real estate paralegal work, familiarity with AIA forms, and experience with document management and workflows (DocuSign). Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required.
• 5+ years as a construction or real estate paralegal, or equivalent.
• Experience reviewing construction contracts, AIA forms, change orders, liens, and payment apps.
• Familiarity with mechanics lien statutes, bonding, and construction insurance.
• Experience supporting construction dispute records and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage construction, architect, engineer, and consultant agreements and change orders.
• Monitor intake, review, and tracking for projects; manage third-party vendor payments.
• Track development/construction contracts, affidavits, liens, waivers, bonding, and insurance.
• Coordinate external counsel and consultants; confirm deadlines and follow up with teams.
• Support construction litigation by organizing and synthesizing project records and agreements.
• Track project data and report to cross-functional teams.
