Job summary

Welltower Inc. seeks a Development & Construction Paralegal to support the legal function on US projects. The role collaborates with in‑house teams and outside counsel to manage contracts, change orders, waivers, and liens throughout development and construction.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in construction or real estate paralegal work, with familiarity of AIA forms and contracted documents. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Paralegal Studies preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience as a construction or real estate paralegal or related support for development transactions.
• Experience reviewing and processing construction contracts and project documents (AIA or similar forms).
• Familiarity with mechanics lien statutes, bonding, and construction insurance provisions preferred.
• Experience supporting construction disputes and project record compilation.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage construction, architect, engineer, and consultant agreements, amendments, change orders, and related documents.
• Oversee intake, review, and tracking for all projects; manage third party vendor payments.
• Monitor development/construction processes and contract execution workflows; liaise with external counsel.
• Support construction litigation and pre-litigation matters by organizing project records and agreements.
• Track claims, project data, and reports for cross-functional teams.
