Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a Quality Manager (Finance) to support and oversee project teams implementing the Quality Management Plan across commercial projects. The role requires a self-driven, collaborative professional with extensive construction QA/QC experience and the ability to work with project managers, superintendents, and engineers.

The ideal candidate will hold a BS in an engineering discipline and have strong knowledge of QMS/RMS processes, construction means

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
• QMS/RMS experience is preferred.
• Proficient in construction means and methods, work sequencing and field operations.
• Understands quality process and protocols, ability to develop project-specific quality plans.
• Capable of teaching, training and facilitating with a flexible approach.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in developing and executing project-specific QMPs.
• Support project teams in executing work in strict compliance with contract documents.
• Review contract documents for constructability and accuracy.
• Analyze construction documents to extract critical quality elements for QMP development.
• Collaborate with teams to establish roles for inspections and manage the inspection process.
• Lead portions of quality-related project meetings and participate in walkthroughs.
• Lead by example with quality planning and inspection of work in place.
• Interface with architect, engineers, and owner representatives to ensure understanding of quality requirements.
• Review the effectiveness of teams in implementing QMPs and communicate quality health to leadership.
