Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager II to run the project quality control program on large or multi-phase projects, including heavy civil, industrial, or federal work under USACE or NAVFAC guidelines. You will write the QC plan, supervise field inspectors, and report on test results and nonconformances.

You will lead three-phase control meetings, coordinate testing and certifications, and ensure the owner's QA requirements are met.

Qualifications

6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC special inspector or NICET Level III certification.
Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency;
Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work;
Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians;
assign daily coverage and review their reports;
Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings;
Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
