Job summary

Optimum in Bethpage, NY, is hiring a Construction Quality Control Lead to oversee design review, contractor interactions, and project tracking for RF and fiber engineering supporting broadband services.

You will ensure adherence to company standards, map accuracy, and high operational efficiency across the network, collaborating with Field Service, Construction, and Sales teams to deliver reliable services.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 24 months experience as a Field or Design Technician.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing in the resident state.
Ability to prepare and review technical drawings for planned telecommunications plant.
High level of map reading, interpretation, and creation.
Project and design tracking to monitor progress and dependencies.
Knowledge of CATV components, fiber, and Wi‑Fi equipment.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Engineering, as‑built, and QC of cable plant from node to distribution network.
Perform complex engineering review and QC using manual and software methods.
QC of GIS data, reports, mapping, and as‑built criteria.
Conduct surveys (institutional, residential, commercial) for network feeds.
Compile footage docs, cost estimates, and construction methods.
Coordinate with Field Service, Construction, Billing, and Sales to ensure design accuracy.
Analyze cost per mile and equipment needs for coax/fiber plant.
Design and engineer strategic fiber transport and network development.
Interact with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for system maps and design.
