Job summary

The State of Florida, Division of Real Estate Development and Management, is seeking a Construction Projects Consultant II in Tallahassee to direct project development from inception to completion and through the warranty period. The role requires coordinating with design professionals, reviewing programs, and ensuring budgets align with funding.

Responsibilities include managing contracts, chairing planning meetings, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, construction, mechanical or architectural engineering or architecture; or Master’s in one of those areas, plus required experience.
• Experience in field of building construction; travel statewide; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate project development for each assigned capital outlay project.
• Assist in preparation and development of project programs and scope.
• Evaluate design phases and coordinate schedules with design professionals; ensure deadlines.
• Conduct bid openings and assist in award of construction contracts.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and state regulations; liaise with agencies.
