Job summary

Florida State University is seeking a Construction Project Manager (Levels I–III) in Tallahassee to lead design and construction of capital projects, ensuring adherence to campus, state, and federal standards while delivering on time and within budget.

The role involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders, managing contract and budget processes, and guiding project teams through all phases of design and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management plus related experience or education equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Mgmt, or Business Admin with seven years related experience or a Bachelor’s degree with nine years related experience, or 13 years combined education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage design and/or construction of capital projects to ensure schedule, budget and quality meet contractually defined scope.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, design professionals, consultants, construction managers and vendors.
• Negotiate with and coordinate work of design professionals, consultants, construction managers and vendors; ensure proper contracts and change orders.
• Develop project budgets and schedules; monitor expenditures and ensure funding.
• Provide guidance to project teams, mentor staff on contract management and code compliance.
