Job summary

APPA's Elon Campus seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead projects through construction and closeout, focusing on contractor performance, schedule management, cost control, and quality. Bachelor's degree and relevant licenses preferred; eight years of experience in construction management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible construction management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Experience managing contractor relationships, scheduling, cost control and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction and closeout phases and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure goals are met within time and funding parameters.
• Perform the full range of project management from bidding to close-out: initiating, planning, budgeting, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.
• Manage the construction budgets from conception through final completion.
• Lead the University's construction-phase management and serve as the Owner's primary representative in managing contractor performance.
• Review baseline schedules, procurement schedules, manpower and sequencing; ensure progress aligns with field conditions.
• Oversee punch-list completion, commissioning, inspections, training and warranty obligations and drive these activities to completion.
• Review contractor payment applications and validate progress against contracts; coordinate changes to protect the University's interests.
