What To Expect in this Role
As an Owner’s Representative supporting mission critical infrastructure and capital improvement projects, you’ll take ownership of complex projects across active data center and utility facilities throughout the Baltimore area. You’ll serve as a trusted extension of the client team, bringing the oversight, judgment, and coordination needed to deliver projects from planning through successful closeout.
- Own project performance across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and documentation, keeping priorities aligned and projects moving forward.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination among client stakeholders, facility operations, design teams, contractors, vendors, and other project partners.
- Oversee design and construction execution, identifying risks early, and maintaining focus on safety, quality, constructability, and operational requirements.
- Manage work within active mission critical facilities, coordinating phasing, outages, shutdowns, access, logistics, and other activities that could impact ongoing operations.
- Drive critical project workflows including design reviews, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change management, commissioning, and turnover.
- Anticipate problems and drive resolution, bringing forward clear options and recommendations before issues affect operations, cost, or schedule.
- Confidently represent the owner with project teams and senior stakeholders, providing concise reporting on progress, financials, schedule, risks, decisions, and upcoming milestones.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; PE, PMP, CCM, or similar professional credentials are a plus.
- 10+ years of construction/project management experience, including direct responsibility for schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder coordination.
- Demonstrated data center or mission critical project experience required, with experience delivering projects in active, operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex capital projects of $1M+ from design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Experience coordinating outages, shutdowns, equipment replacements, commissioning, and phased construction within active facilities.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, controls, and critical building infrastructure systems, with the ability to effectively oversee technical teams and identify project risks.
- Proven ability to represent clients and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, facility operations, design teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, PlanGrid, BIM, or similar project management platforms is a plus.
- Proactive, accountable, and comfortable operating independently, while collaborating effectively with the client and broader project team.
