Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking well-qualified Construction Project Managers for its General Services department. Construction Project Managers oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of construction, renovation, repair, and infrastructure improvement projects for their assigned jurisdiction.

Employees in this job class manage multiple projects through various phases, including project development, budgeting, procurement, construction, and closeout.

Qualifications

• Experience managing construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects (planning, scheduling, coordinating contractors, resources, and progress).
• Experience developing or managing construction budgets (estimates, tracking, cost control, forecasting).
• Experience participating in procurement or administering construction contracts (bids, supplier selection, change orders, compliance).

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees construction and infrastructure project plans from scope to closeout.
• Manages multiple projects, coordinates activities, priorities, resources, milestones, and budgets.
• Monitors contractor performance, site conditions, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; resolves issues.
