Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking well-qualified Construction Project Managers for its General Services department. Construction Project Managers oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of construction, renovation, repair, and infrastructure improvement projects for their assigned jurisdiction.

Employees in this job class manage multiple projects through various phases, including project development, budgeting, procurement, construction, and closeout.

Qualifications

• Experience managing construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience developing or managing construction budgets and cost tracking.
• Experience participating in construction procurement or administering contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develops construction, renovation, and infrastructure project plans guiding projects from development to completion.
• Manages multiple construction projects through planning, design, construction, and completion.
• Oversees contractor performance, site visits, inspections, and progress against plans and codes.
• Administers procurement documentation, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and contract changes.
• Monitors budgets and resources, cost estimates, and funding allocations across projects.
• Coordinates project activities with architects, engineers, contractors, and agencies, resolving coordination issues.
• Maintains project records, status reports, and final inspections for closeout.
• Serves as a lead worker, guiding assigned staff and providing technical direction.
