Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking well-qualified Construction Project Managers for its General Services department. These managers oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of construction, renovation, repair, and infrastructure improvement projects for their assigned jurisdiction, managing multiple projects through development, budgeting, procurement, construction, and closeout.

They coordinate contractors, consultants, engineers, architects, and internal teams to ensure work

Qualifications

• Experience managing construction, renovation, or infrastructure improvement projects from development to closeout.
• Experience developing or managing construction budgets and cost control.
• Experience participating in construction procurement or administering contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develops construction, renovation, and infrastructure project plans from site assessment to objective setting.
• Manages multiple projects through planning, design, construction, and completion, coordinating resources and schedules.
• Oversees contractor performance, site visits, and progress against plans and codes.
• Prepares procurement documentation, evaluates bids, and coordinates contractor selection and change orders.
• Monitors budgets, expenditures, and financial reports to maintain cost control across projects.
• Coordinates project activities with architects, engineers, contractors, and agencies to resolve issues.
• Maintains project records and prepares status reports for management and closeout.
