Waypoint Contracting Inc. in Florida is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial and/or institutional design/build projects from cradle to grave.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering or Construction Management (or 20+ years in lieu of a degree), strong estimating and scheduling skills, and current OSHA 30 and safety

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management or 20+ years related experience.
• Minimum 10 years in commercial/industrial general contracting.
• 5–7 years in government contracting preferred.
• Experience estimating and managing self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Expert knowledge of construction means and methods for renovations.
• Strong skills with spreadsheets, email, and construction software.
• OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR current.
• CQC certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC as required.
• US Citizenship required for most positions.
• Grace period up to six months to obtain credentials.

Responsibilities

• Manage cradle-to-grave life cycle of design/build projects.
• Meet Owners and Designers to determine requirements and address issues.
• Acquire and manage building permits and regulatory prerequisites.
• Visit sites, clarify scope, and prepare cost estimates/proposals.
• Evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer savings.
• Establish and maintain project schedules using scheduling software.
• Develop strategies to self-perform and outsource activities.
• Negotiate contracts and purchase orders to meet goals.
• Identify issues early and facilitate solutions.
• Lead progress meetings and document project status.
• Determine appropriate level of project control and document changes.
• Manage costs and keep changes within contract terms.
• Create monthly requisitions and maintain vendor dialogue.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal requirements.
• Administer programs such as CQC, Safety, Environmental Stewardship.
• Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to team members.
• Participate in industry networking and assume leadership roles.
