Job summary

The City of New York Parks Department is seeking an Associate Project Manager to lead complex capital projects from design through construction at the Olmsted Center, Queens. You will supervise a team of engineers and manage consultant contracts, ensuring adherence to schedules and budget while coordinating with multiple agencies.

This role requires a strong background in project management for large-scale projects, with a focus on cost control, change order review, and MWBE compliance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of supervision in project management for engineering/architectural/landscape projects; or supervising a construction project valued at $1,000,000+
• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 1 year of project management supervision experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects through scope, design and construction phases
• Supervise Resident Engineers and oversee consultant selection and contracting
• Review schedules, reports and correspondence to ensure completion dates
• Provide project updates to stakeholders and conduct meetings as needed
• Review and approve change orders and vendor payment requisitions
• Monitor conformance with contract requirements and MWBE goals
• Collaborate with Architects/Engineers on change orders and shop drawing approvals
• Resolve project schedule and cost issues
