Job summary

City of New York seeks an Associate Project Manager to oversee capital construction projects at the Olmsted Center in Queens. You will manage reconstruction and new construction efforts of varying complexity under direction.

Responsibilities include negotiating change orders, supervising resident engineer staff, coordinating with design teams, tracking progress, and ensuring safety and wage compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of supervisory experience in project management for engineering/architectural projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, urban planning or related field, plus one year PM experience.
• Alternative: high school diploma with five years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction management on capital projects with varying levels of complexity.
• Negotiate and review change orders for large and/or complex projects.
• Monitor site safety, inspection of contractor work, and compliance with plans.
• Prepare detailed daily/weekly project reports and cost projections.
• Coordinate with design team to resolve technical questions and manage RFIs.
