Job description

Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Location: Upper Midwest

Dream Company

Relationships sit at the center of how this organization operates, both with the clients it serves and among the people who do the work. Leaders stay accessible, trust their teams to make sound calls, and welcome honest, direct conversation when a project needs it. Teams across every function collaborate closely rather than handing work over a wall, and the firm stays ahead of the curve on technology. Integrity guides everyday decisions, and people here take real pride in how their work is delivered.

As Senior Project Manager, you will own commercial projects through the full design-build lifecycle, shaping design direction early and carrying that vision through construction and closeout. You will be the trusted point of contact for owners, the voice that gives design teams clear and constructive feedback, and the leader accountable for schedule, budget, and quality. This role suits a forward-thinking, relationship-driven builder who is ready for larger, more complex work and eager to help develop the next generation of project leaders.

  • Build and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts, identifying risks early and putting solutions in place.
  • Oversee subcontractor buyout, contract administration, change orders, and procurement.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, estimators, and field teams to uphold quality, safety, and schedule commitments.
  • Use project management software such as Microsoft Project, Procore, and Bluebeam to track documentation, submittals, RFIs, and progress reporting.
  • Weigh calculated risks and make sound decisions that protect the project, the client, and the company.
  • Mentor project engineers and assistant project managers as needed.

  • Proficiency with project management software, including Microsoft Project, Procore, and Bluebeam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Senior living construction experience; multifamily or hospitality project experience will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective feedback to design teams, owners, and clients.
Core Competencies
  • Anticipates next steps and plans several moves ahead.
  • Communicates persuasively and reads people and situations with strong intuition.
  • Handles difficult conversations with confidence and candor.
  • Takes calculated risks backed by sound, well-reasoned judgment.
  • Solves problems proactively before they escalate.
  • Brings close attention to detail and analytical follow-through.
  • Manages multiple priorities with high personal energy.
  • Builds lasting client relationships grounded in trust and responsiveness.
  • Operates as a team-oriented, ethical, and adaptable professional.
