Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Manager of Construction to lead the complete project management of new build and rebuild construction efforts and to manage the construction department. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years in a cable construction environment, including management.

Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within a large national network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a cable construction environment with at least 2 years in management
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and mentor employees
• Excellent organizational and management abilities to prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to independently complete large, complex outside plant projects
• Expertise in construction drawing preparation, transmission design, fieldwork and estimates with associated work order documentation
• Knowledge of planning, cost studies, central office, fiber optics, right-of-way negotiation and easement execution

Responsibilities

• Prepare for approval all capital projects and expenses, maintain proper documentation for each project and capital account.
• Generate monthly reports as necessary.
• Oversee construction maintenance and new construction; ensure compliance with Mediacom standards.
• Ensure policies and procedures are implemented by managed personnel.
• Ensure compliance of construction requirements with all franchises.
• Assist with budget preparation for capital and operating costs; monitor material status of projects.
• Interview, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline and terminate assigned personnel.
• Coordinate project implementation and management tasks.
• Be on-site for project meetings to ensure planning and review.
• Review project proposals to determine time frames, procedures and resource allocation.
• Maintain all project plans, organization and resources to deliver solutions.
• Schedule meetings, budgets and status communications with management.
• All other duties as assigned.
