Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a seasoned Project Manager II to lead construction projects from design through completion, ensuring quality, safety, timeliness, and strong financial performance. The role requires proactive leadership to mentor teams, manage complex programs, and build client relationships through excellent service and communication.

The position calls for a bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field and 7+ years of experience, with travel up to 100% and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction-related field.
• 7+ years of construction management on large-scale projects ($20M+)
• Strong budgeting/forecasting experience
• Proficiency with MS Office and PM software
• Knowledge of construction law and contract management
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution from design through completion within scope, schedule and budget.
• Prepare proposals, support pursuits, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Develop and maintain accurate project financials including projections, billing, and cost control.
• Allocate estimates into financial systems, manage cost codes and invoicing.
• Oversee subcontractor selection, buyouts and billing.
• Mentor and manage Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers; provide feedback.
• Serve as primary client on-site contact, resolving concerns and building relationships.
• Manage change orders; ensure timely submission and approval.
• Ensure compliance with Mortenson safety, quality, and risk standards.
• Promote inclusive work environment and Mortenson values.
• Provide leadership that drives collaboration and high performance
