Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. in Hollywood, FL is seeking a Project Manager to oversee complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You will lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and client relations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 6–10 years of construction management experience
• Ability to independently manage complex projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Strong knowledge of startup, mobilization, and project administration
• Experience managing financial performance and coordinating resources
• Ability to lead and develop interns, PMs, and engineers
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior leadership
• Proficiency with CPM scheduling and related tools

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout activities
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial reporting
• Develop, maintain, monitor, and execute project schedules and recovery plans
• Manage owner contracts, subcontract agreements, procurement activities, and vendor relationships
• Lead owner, subcontractor, consultant, and internal coordination meetings
• Oversee staffing, resources, and operational planning for projects
• Mentor and develop interns, Project Engineers, and Assistant Project Managers
• Monitor safety, quality control, and production performance
• Manage risks, change orders, claims, and disputes
• Conduct site visits to review progress and ensure compliance
• Maintain client relationships and pursue repeat business opportunities
• Collaborate with Preconstruction to review scopes before bidding
