Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful execution, financial performance, and delivery of complex commercial construction projects. This position provides strategic oversight across assigned projects, leads project teams, manages client relationships, and partners closely with operations leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with company standards. The Senior Project Manager serves as a key leader within the organization, balancing hands-on project management with mentorship and strategic planning.

  • Lead multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Maintain full responsibility for project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and profitability
  • Review and approve change orders, subcontractor scopes, buyouts, and cost reports
  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field staff
  • Establish and enforce best practices, project controls, and performance standards
  • Partner with Operations leadership and HR on staffing needs and team development

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Lead client meetings and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Resolve escalated project issues and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams during pursuits and project handoff
  • Participate in scope reviews, value engineering, and constructability analysis
  • Support proposal development and client interviews as needed

Operational & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and company policies
  • Monitor schedule adherence and quality control across all assigned projects
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 10–15+ years of experience in commercial construction with progressive project management responsibility
  • Proven track record managing large-scale or complex commercial projects
  • Strong financial and contract management expertise
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Experience across sectors such as office, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, or multifamily
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project)
