Job summary

Austin Bridge and Roads is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead complex civil construction projects in San Antonio, TX.

You will oversee safety, quality, and schedule, sponsor collaboration among owners, subcontractors, and designers, and be responsible for cost control from bid to closeout. Ideal candidates bring a BS in Civil Engineering or related field with 7+ years supervising construction, including design-build, concrete placement, and Bluebeam takeoffs, and are ready to lead diverse

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years supervising and coordinating construction projects.
• Experience includes design-build projects, mass concrete placement per TxDOT standards, cold weather concrete placement, and Bluebeam takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Hold owners, subcontractors, and vendors accountable to contract performance.
• Lead progress, planning, and safety meetings with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Estimating to solicit subcontractor bids and prepare final cost proposals.
• Own startup activities and work with the superintendent on site logistics.
• Review subcontractor bids and award subcontracts after negotiations.
• Ensure bonds and insurance are in place before work begins.
• Prepare monthly pay requests for Owners and architects.
• Submit and negotiate proposed changes with written owner approvals.
• Analyze updates to cost reporting data for the project.
• Develop a master construction schedule with Scheduling Department.
• Provide leadership to promote safety, quality, teamwork, respect, and efficiency.
• Forecast cost for self-performed work and determine resource needs.
