Job summary

HKS, Inc. in Houston seeks an experienced Construction Administrator to lead teams through multiple projects, oversee site meetings, submittals, RFIs and payments, and ensure compliance with contract documents and codes.

You will collaborate with Owner, Architect/Engineer, and contractors, apply knowledge of building systems, and guide project teams toward high-quality, on-time delivery across complex facilities.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of construction administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction phase activities for concurrent projects.
• Coordinate with Owner, Architect/Engineer and Contractor teams to achieve goals.
• Proactively apply knowledge of codes and building systems to projects.
• Review RFIs and submittals and maintain document control.
• Communicate with design team to understand design intent.
• Coordinate revisions and communicate contractual implications during construction.
• Monitor changes outside basic services and flag potential additional services.
• Check submittals for conformance with documents, design intent and standards.
• Perform site visits, observations and prepare field reports.
• Apply knowledge of materials and QA/QC processes during construction.
• Evaluate cost-related aspects and administer change orders and payments.
• Provide feedback for constructability and material improvements.
• Foster teamwork and maintain current owner agreements knowledge.
• Resolve issues with inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Lead team meetings and document coordination efforts.
