Job summary

Macdonald & Company seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager in the San Antonio area to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role emphasizes strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and client communication to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate will coordinate multiple trades, manage subcontractors, monitor progress, and maintain high quality standards while ensuring regulatory compliance and project documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specs.
• Proficiency with Procore, Buildertrend, or MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from start to finish.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and resource plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, change orders, and submittals.
• Track project costs, manage budgets, and identify potential cost overruns.
• Conduct job site visits and progress meetings.
• Enforce job site safety standards and applicable building codes.
• Identify project risks and resolve construction-related issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records.
• Communicate project status, timelines, and challenges to company leadership and clients.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Manage project closeout, inspections, punch lists, and final turnover.
