Job summary

Design Hire LLC in Texas City, TX seeks a Senior Project Engineer to oversee scheduling, budgeting, and coordination for a high volume of short-duration construction projects. The role is office-based with 60–80% focus on scheduling, software use, budgeting, and client communications.

You will coordinate crews, vendors, and materials, ensuring readiness and proactive risk mitigation while maintaining project documentation and schedules in the PM system.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project engineering or management.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects concurrently.
• Strong scheduling, planning, logistics, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of project budgets, job costs, labor, materials, and financial tracking.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with project management software.
• Experience with Projul, Procore, or similar software is highly preferred.
• Strong Excel, email, documentation, and general software skills.
• Excellent client communication and professional follow-through.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple active and upcoming construction projects simultaneously.
• Build, maintain, and adjust project schedules using construction management software.
• Track project budgets, costs, labor, materials, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, warehouse personnel, vendors, materials, and equipment before each project begins.
• Ensure materials are ordered, staged, and ready so crews can execute without downtime.
• Prepare teams for upcoming projects through pre-construction planning and coordination.
• Communicate schedules, status, delays, changes, and expectations with clients.
• Identify scheduling conflicts, travel inefficiencies, material issues, and risks early.
• Adjust sequencing based on site readiness, crew availability, travel time, and changing conditions.
• Maintain accurate project information and documentation within the PM system.
• Collaborate with field teams while owning planning, financial, scheduling, and communication aspects.
